Santa Fe authorities prepare for Paraná River flooding

The Municipality of Santa Fe has begun preparing the Centro de Asistencia Integral N.º 1 in Alto Verde to respond to potential water emergencies caused by the rising Paraná River. Located near the Héroes de Malvinas bridge, the site is designed to support families from the Vuelta del Paraguayo sector, an area lacking defense system protection.

Mayor Juan Pablo Poletti inspected the site, where ground preparation and the arrival of the first units have commenced. The municipality has signed agreements with the organization TECHO to provide 120 prefabricated wooden housing modules, with the Alto Verde site capable of accommodating 78 units. These elevated structures are designed to minimize contact with moisture.

In a separate effort to strengthen regional response, the second Integral Workshop on Emergencies of Southern Santa Fe was held at the Municipal Cultural Center. The event brought together approximately 150 participants, including civil protection teams, firefighters, security forces, and healthcare personnel, to improve coordination and technical preparation for climate-related risks and critical interventions.
