Santa Fe businesses authorized to use green strips for advertising

The Municipal Council of Santa Fe has approved modifications to existing ordinances to allow local businesses to use the ‘cinta verde’ (green strip) for commercial advertising. This measure aims to boost sales for local shops facing a difficult economic climate.

The green strip refers to the area of grass and trees located between the building line and the street curb. Under the new regulations, businesses must obtain authorization from the Municipal Executive to place mobile signage, such as totems or chalkboards, in these areas.

To ensure public safety and urban aesthetics, the signage must meet specific requirements: it cannot be fixed to the ground, must be removed at closing time, and is limited to dimensions of up to one meter in width and 1.20 meters in height. Furthermore, the advertising must be used exclusively to promote the products or services of the specific establishment and cannot include third-party advertisements.
