Santa Fe City Council approves plan to restore City Museum

The Santa Fe Municipal Council has approved a resolution to conduct technical, operational, and economic feasibility studies for the comprehensive recovery of the City Museum. Located in the Casa Videla Cabal, the facility is currently suffering from severe structural deterioration, including water leaks and damage to walls and ceilings.

The initiative aims to protect a collection of 2,981 inventoried objects, including photographs, documents, and furniture that document the history of Santa Fe during the 20th century. The approved project requires the Municipal Executive to evaluate structural conditions, propose solutions for building repairs, improve conservation spaces, and analyze the possibility of opening permanent exhibition rooms. The plan must also include cost assessments, financing alternatives, and an execution schedule.
