Santa Fe, Córdoba, and Entre Ríos provide electricity aid to industries

The provinces of Santa Fe, Córdoba, and Entre Ríos have agreed to a financial assistance scheme to help industries in the Región Centro manage rising electricity costs. The initiative allows companies, including both SMEs and large manufacturing plants, to pay charges from the Wholesale Electricity Market (MEM) in installments.

This measure aims to mitigate the impact of significant energy price increases on production costs and provide greater financial predictability for businesses. Some sectors had reported electricity bill increases of up to 500%. Local authorities noted that these hikes stem from national energy resolutions and charges determined by Cammesa, rather than provincial decisions.

The plan is structured around four pillars: deferred financing for wholesale components, reduction of operating cost impacts, tools to prevent financial imbalances, and unified criteria among distributors in the three provinces to ensure equitable competition.
