Santa Fe economy reaches record levels amid land value increases

The economy of Santa Fe province grew by 5.5% year-on-year in 2025, reaching its highest level of activity in the recorded series. According to the Rosario Board of Trade (BCR), this expansion was driven largely by commerce, manufacturing, and the agricultural sector, which together accounted for approximately 80% of the provincial growth. The province's Gross Geographic Product reached $63,360 million at constant 2004 prices, representing 10.4% of Argentina's national gross value added.

Parallel to this economic growth, rural land values in Santa Fe are showing signs of recovery. This trend is attributed to a strong period for livestock, sustained demand for highly productive soils, and a gradual reactivation of rural real estate operations. The land market has seen significant shifts since the 2001 devaluation; while the core region saw values quadruple due to biotechnology and record international prices, the market experienced a period of stagnation and correction between 2013 and recent years due to exchange rate distortions and export taxes.
