Santa Fe enables online registration for domestic partnerships

The Government of Santa Fe has launched a digital service allowing citizens to register or terminate domestic partnerships (uniones convivenciales) online. The process is available through the ‘Mi Santa Fe’ mobile application and the province’s official website.

To register a union, applicants must log in, complete required forms, and upload documentation, including an electronically signed affidavit. Once documentation is verified, the couple will receive an appointment for a virtual hearing. During this session, both individuals must present their physical DNI to verify their identity via video connection. Upon completion of the hearing, the act is signed electronically to formalize the registration with the Civil Registry.

The platform also facilitates the termination of previously registered unions, which can be done by mutual agreement through a virtual hearing or requested by one partner based on grounds established by the National Civil and Commercial Code.

This initiative is part of a broader digitalization effort to simplify public administration, reduce waiting times, and eliminate the need for physical travel to Civil Registry offices. On average, more than 10,000 residents of Santa Fe perform this procedure annually.
