Santa Fe government proposes new gender violence protection law

The Government of Santa Fe has submitted a bill to the provincial Legislature aimed at the prevention, protection, and integral management of gender-based violence. Developed jointly by the ministries of Equality and Human Development, Justice and Security, and Government and Public Innovation, the initiative seeks to establish a four-level risk assessment system (low, medium, high, and critical) to allow for proportional state intervention.

Key components of the proposal include the creation of a unique digital registry, an urgent assistance fund for victims, and the use of dual ankle monitors to ensure distance requirements. The project aims to reduce the administrative burden on victims and improve early intervention through coordinated efforts between state agencies and municipalities.

In a related development regarding digital safety, the Santa Fe Municipal Council has adhered to the ‘Ema Law’. This provincial regulation establishes a mandatory system to prevent, detect, and address digital violence within both public and private educational institutions, inspired by the case of Ema Bondaruk.
