Santa Fe Government proposes new gender violence protection law

The provincial government has introduced a legislative project aimed at strengthening prevention, protection, and integral risk management regarding gender-based violence. Developed jointly by the ministries of Equality and Human Development, Justice and Security, and Government and Public Innovation, the initiative seeks to anticipate risk situations and improve state intervention tools.

Key components of the proposal include a risk evaluation system with four levels, proportional protection measures, and a unique digital registry. The project also aims to reduce the administrative burden on victims and establishes an urgent assistance fund alongside territorial strategies with municipalities. To ensure distance between aggressors and victims, the government is incorporating dual ankle monitors, a measure that began arriving in late 2025.
