Santa Fe Governor Pullaro calls for end to export retentions

During the 90th Expo Rural de Reconquista, Santa Fe Governor Maximiliano Pullaro addressed the province's role in national production and the economic challenges facing the agricultural sector.

Pullaro called for the elimination of export retentions, stating, “We want to end the damn retentions once and for all so that the field and industry can continue to push this economy.” He emphasized that Santa Fe is a vital contributor to the economy, providing one out of every four kilos of meat and one out of every three tons of cereals and oilseeds exported by Argentina.

The Governor also addressed fiscal relations with the national government. He noted that while the provincial administration maintains a respectful relationship with President Javier Milei's administration, there is a significant debt owed to Santa Fe, particularly regarding pension funds. He indicated that the province is pursuing these claims through institutional channels, including the Supreme Court of Justice.

Regarding provincial development, Pullaro highlighted infrastructure progress, noting the repair of approximately 3,400 kilometers of provincial routes and the cleaning of 7,000 kilometers of the province's 10,000-kilometer canal network. He also discussed the use of subsidized national funds to support local producers and the need for improved national road infrastructure.
