Santa Fe municipality authorizes increase in urban bus fares
The Municipality of Santa Fe has officially authorized a 10% increase in urban bus fares through Decree No. 0081, signed by Mayor Juan Pablo Poletti and Government Secretary Sebastián Mastropaolo.
The new flat fare for passengers without a registered SUBE card will rise from 2,111.11 pesos to 2,322.22 pesos. For frequent users with a registered SUBE card, the fare will increase from 1,900 pesos to 2,090 pesos. Other updated rates include a center fare of 1,625.56 pesos, a university student fare of 1,393.33 pesos, a retiree fare of 1,161.11 pesos, and a school fare of 928.89 pesos.
The decision follows requests from service providers, including Autobuses Santa Fe, Ersa Urbano SA, and Empresa Recreo SRL, who had sought a higher flat rate of 2,665.89 pesos. The authorized increase is approximately 13% lower than what the companies requested. The municipality cited rising operating costs, including sector salary increases and a decrease in the number of passengers per kilometer, as primary justifications for the adjustment.
The new rates will take effect once technical procedures are completed with the National Commission for Transport Regulation (CNRT) and Nación Servicios to update the SUBE system.
