Santa Fe police probe fatal shooting and seize cocaine in separate operations

The Provincial Police (PDI) is investigating a shooting in the Brigadier López neighborhood of Santa Fe city. The victim, 29‑year‑old Brian Ezequiel Lepez, was hit in the chest and is in intensive care at Hospital Iturraspe. Police have secured the scene, are reviewing surveillance footage and have opened a homicide investigation.

In a separate operation in the city of Sunchales, PDI agents detained two men and confiscated 196.4 grams of cocaine, two revolvers with ammunition, a digital balance, a motorcycle, clothing, cash worth about $204,000 and other items. The detainees face charges for drug possession with intent to sell and illegal firearm possession, while additional individuals were cited for minor drug offenses.
