Santa Fe Province advances wage adjustments and seeks wider transport fare subsidies

The Santa Fe provincial government announced that wage negotiations have begun with state employee unions. Government spokesperson Virginia Coudannes said the administration will adjust salaries whenever a semi‑annual agreement stays below inflation, while maintaining funding for medicines, infrastructure, security patrols and other public services. Governor Maximiliano Pullaro reaffirmed his commitment to dialogue and to protect workers’ purchasing power.

In a separate initiative, Santa Fe officials appealed to the national government to extend the electronic ticketing system (SUBE) to all intercity bus lines, enabling the Social Tariff discount. Minister Gustavo Puccini highlighted that only 25 % of interurban tickets currently use SUBE, leaving many low‑income passengers without the 55 % fare reduction. The province has contributed over $700 million in fuel taxes and invested $193 million of its own funds to support the educational ticket system, while demanding a larger share of national resources.
