Pullaro signs $4.35 bn plan to revamp Parque Garay and western road in Santa Fe

Governor Maximiliano Pullaro and Santa Fe mayor Juan Pablo Poletti signed an agreement worth $4.35 billion to upgrade two key urban projects ahead of the 2026 South American Games. The plan allocates $3.85 billion for a comprehensive renovation of Parque Garay, including a new multipurpose pool, children's playground, cycling track, animal health institute, and the Japanese garden, as well as improvements to pathways and facilities. A further $500 million will be spent to transform the city's western Access corridor along Iturraspe avenue, enhancing connectivity and road quality.

The investments are part of a broader record public‑works programme in Santa Fe, intended to leave a permanent legacy of better mobility, tourism appeal and civic spaces after the Games. Pullaro emphasized the goal of making Santa Fe “the most beautiful city in Argentina,” while also noting that the projects will boost local employment and support the region’s economic recovery.

The agreement also includes related security and public‑space upgrades, ensuring that the infrastructure built for the sporting event will serve residents for years to come.
