Santa Fe Province launches EU‑backed deforestation‑free certification system
The Government of Santa Fe Province unveiled the Santa Fe Produce Sustentable (SFPS) program at the Expo Rural de Palermo 2026. SFPS is a public, free, fully digital platform that certifies agricultural products coming from farms that do not engage in deforestation, providing traceability required by the European Union’s Deforestation Regulation.
The system was developed with partial financing from the EU’s Al‑Invest Verde programme, and the EU delegation in Argentina praised it as a model of innovation and adaptation to new environmental standards. Provincial Minister of Productive Development Gustavo Puccini and Secretary of Agriculture Ignacio Mántaras highlighted that 99.6 % of Santa Fe’s territory produces without deforestation, a distinction the tool makes verifiable for international markets and aims to boost export competitiveness.
