Santa Fe proposes technical control and new port uses for Hidrovía
During the Expo Globalports event at the Buenos Aires Cereals Exchange, the Province of Santa Fe presented its vision for the new 25-year concession of the Vía Navegable Troncal. Productive Development Minister Gustavo Puccini emphasized the province's desire for a constructive role with real influence in the future Control Council, seeking technical coordination with the National Ports Agency.
Santa Fe aims to leverage its strategic infrastructure, which includes 800 kilometers of riverbank on the Paraná, four public ports, and over 30 private terminals. The province proposes using its ports as exit platforms for lithium, copper, and energy. This follows a record year for the Gran Rosario hub, which dispatched 75.7 million tons in 2025, surpassing international districts such as New Orleans and Santos.
