Santa Fe rural leaders examine EU‑Mercosur deal and export opportunities
The Confederación de Asociaciones Rurales de Santa Fe (CARSFE) organized a seminar in the city of Santa Fe, bringing together provincial officials, agribusiness representatives and academics to analyse the newly‑effective EU‑Mercosur trade agreement. Speakers such as CARSFE president Berardo Vignatti and Governor Maximiliano Pullaro highlighted the pact’s potential to boost the province’s agro‑industrial profile, stressing fiscal relief, infrastructure investment and the need to meet higher quality and environmental standards.
Carlos Castagnani, president of the Confederaciones Rurales Argentinas (CRA), echoed the optimism while warning against sustainability‑based trade barriers and excessive certification costs. The discussion focused on adding value to primary production, removing export retentions, and ensuring fair competition for Argentine producers in European markets.
