Santa Fe Senate modernizes historic chamber, renames it after Aldo Tessio and Jorge Obeid

The Senate of Argentina's Santa Fe province inaugurated a comprehensive renovation of its historic legislative chamber. The work restored the Palacio Legislativo’s architectural heritage and introduced new technological tools to improve parliamentary operations.

The ceremony was led by provisional Senate President Felipe Michlig and attended by provincial Minister of Government and Public Innovation Fabián Bastía, Deputy Chamber President Clara García, Supreme Court President Rafael Gutiérrez and other officials. A newly discovered oil painting of Brigadier General Estanislao López, created by artist Luis Gervasoni, was unveiled and replicas were placed in the Governor’s Office, the Supreme Court, the Deputy Chamber and the municipal government.

The chamber was officially named for former governors Aldo Emilio Tessio and Jorge Alberto Obeid, honoring their contributions to regional infrastructure such as the Rosario‑Santa Fe highway, the Subfluvial Tunnel, the National Route 19 autovía and the Rosario‑Victoria bridge.
