Argentina faces diverse legal rulings and international appeals

Various legal and administrative developments are unfolding across Argentina. In a major international case, the Argentine government is appealing a ruling in the United States that requires the payment of over US$390 million to Titan Consortium regarding the expropriation of Aerolíneas Argentinas and Austral. The Procuración del Tesoro plans to seek a review before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia.

Domestically, the Supreme Court of Buenos Aires upheld the labor rights of 62 Pedidos Ya delivery workers, rejecting an appeal by the company and maintaining a fine imposed by the provincial Ministry of Labor. In Santa Fe, judicial deadlines have been suspended regarding a ruling that declared the pension cap unconstitutional, allowing the provincial government time to address pending local appeals before approaching the National Supreme Court.

Other notable rulings include the confirmation of the acquittal of former Bariloche Mayor María Eugenia Martini in a housing program fraud case, and the rejection of a $66 million claim by a construction firm against the Mendoza government. Additionally, the national government is challenging the relocation of the AFA headquarters to Pilar, arguing it aims to evade regulatory oversight.
