Santa Fiora center-right politicians criticize local administration

Center-right political representatives in the Amiata region have criticized the administration of Santa Fiora, alleging that the town's reputation for tourism and livability contradicts the daily reality of its residents.

Local citizens, particularly in the Pescheria area, have reported several service failures. Key grievances include a non-functioning elevator that connects the bridge parking area to the urban center and the implementation of a Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL) that restricts access to only one vehicle per resident for twelve months of the year.

Critics argue that while such restrictions might be acceptable during the peak summer tourist months, maintaining them year-round is problematic for the town's elderly population. They noted that proposed future parking solutions are located too far from the village to be practical for older residents. The opposition has also claimed that Mayor Federico Balocchi has declined requests for meetings to discuss these grievances.
