Santa Gertrudis hosts traditional Festa Pagesa
The town of Santa Gertrudis held its Festa Pagesa on Sunday, drawing residents and tourists to the town square to celebrate Ibicencan traditions. The event, organized by the Grup de Ball Tradicional de Santa Gertrudis, was originally scheduled for October 4 at Font de Cas Ramons but was postponed due to heavy rainfall that left the ground too wet for outdoor activities.
With municipal assistance, the celebration was successfully relocated to the town square. The festivities included displays of local craftsmanship, such as handmade knives and traditional clothing, alongside workshops for making honey candles. Gastronomic offerings featured local products including sobrasada bread, vegetable coca, various cocarrois, ensaimadas, and flaons.
A central highlight of the day was the ‘ball pagès’ dance, performed by the Santa Gertrudis group alongside guest performers from the Grup Folklòric Brisa de Portmany of Sant Antoni.
