Santa Lucía child hospitalized in unconscious and malnourished state

A 10-year-old boy was rushed to Rawson Hospital in an unconscious and malnourished state on Sunday. The child, a resident of the Pedro Echagüe settlement in Santa Lucía, exhibited confusion, low weight, and difficulty moving.

Police from the Unidad Operativa Alto de Sierra arrived at the home after receiving an alert. They interviewed a 44-year-old man, identified as J. L. Y., who is the partner of the child's mother. The man stated that the mother had left for a birthday party on Friday and had not returned. He claimed to be caring for the children alongside the mother's aunt and another partner, but admitted he did not know the names or specific details of the children or the mother.

Authorities are currently searching for the mother, identified by the initials C. R., to determine if criminal charges are warranted or if social assistance is required. The boy remains hospitalized as medical professionals work to stabilize his condition.
