Santa Lucia traditions and improvements in Italy

In Fermo, the Santa Lucia parish has enhanced its church lighting system using funds from the ‘8xmille’ initiative. Parish priest Don Michele Rogante noted that while previous work had been done, the central area and presbytery remained in shadow. The new lighting, made possible by taxpayers choosing to allocate a portion of their IRPEF to the Catholic Church, aims to improve religious celebrations and prayer experiences for the community.

In Ruvo di Puglia, the Santa Lucia parish is preparing for its traditional festival on December 13. The community is being called to donate wood for the symbolic bonfire, a centuries-old tradition representing light. Donations can be delivered to the parish on via Oberdan until December 8, ahead of the bonfire scheduled for 5:30 AM on the feast day.
