Santa Margherita festivals bring together communities in Positano and Pontedassio

In Positano’s historic Fornillo quarter, the medieval Church of Santa Margherita hosts its annual celebration on July 20. The program includes a 07:30 morning Mass and a 19:00 vespers, followed by a solemn Eucharist during which pregnant women receive the traditional blessing asking for a safe delivery.

In Pontedassio, Liguria, the patronal feast of Santa Margherita featured a solemn Mass, a procession of the saint’s statue through the village, music by the Alassio band and a communal dinner in the town square. Local officials, including Mayor Fulvio Pezzuto and regional councilor Alessandro Piana, stressed the event’s importance for reinforcing community identity and cultural tradition.
