Santa Maria Capua Vetere body discovery investigation

A body was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition in an agricultural field on via Degli Spiriti, near the cemetery in Santa Maria Capua Vetere. The discovery was made around noon by the landowner, who found the deceased person hanging from a tree with a rope around the neck.

Authorities have not yet been able to identify the victim, who is believed to be a middle-aged woman. Due to the state of decomposition, investigators are working to determine the exact time of death and whether the death was due to natural causes, a voluntary act, or foul play. All hypotheses remain open pending further investigation.

The body has been transferred to the legal medicine institute at the ‘Sant’Anna e San Sebastiano’ hospital in Caserta, where an autopsy will be conducted to provide critical evidence regarding the cause of death and the identity of the individual.
