Santa Maria di Licodia: 21-year-old charged after police chase

A 21-year-old man has been reported to authorities in Santa Maria di Licodia after providing false personal information to the Carabinieri. The incident occurred following a police pursuit initiated when a vehicle performed a sudden U-turn upon spotting a patrol from the Paternò Company.

During the subsequent stop, officers found three agitated occupants in the vehicle. The 21-year-old passenger, who lacked identification, provided an incorrect date of birth. Following verification with the Operations Center, his true identity was established, and he was charged with “falsa attestazione o dichiarazione ad un Pubblico Ufficiale” (false attestation or declaration to a public official).

Additionally, the 23-year-old driver was found to be operating the vehicle without a driver's license, as he had never obtained one, resulting in administrative sanctions.
