Santa Marinella Democratic Party criticizes rising sports facility fees

The Democratic Party of Santa Marinella and Santa Severa has criticized a recent municipal decision to increase fees for using local sports facilities. Under resolution no. 67/28-09-2026, hourly rates for extraordinary events—such as tournaments, exhibitions, and friendly matches—have been set at 75 euros for the Palazzetto dello Sport and 50 euros for the Carducci school gym.

Party representatives argue that these high costs contradict the current economic climate, where families are already struggling with rising costs for food, fuel, and utilities. They contend that instead of increasing rates, the administration should support local sports associations to promote tourism and social growth, asserting that sports should remain a fundamental right rather than a luxury.
