Marigliano faces political crisis following Mayor's resignation

The municipality of Marigliano is facing a political crisis following the resignation of Mayor Gaetano Bocchino. The Azione group, led by Antonio Di Sauro, has publicly responded to accusations of causing the crisis, denying any betrayal of the Mayor. The group maintains they sought political respect and participation in decision-making rather than seeking positions, citing a lack of transparency regarding a 133,000 euro cultural event and budget variations.

In contrast, the local Democratic Party (PD) has expressed full and loyal support for Mayor Bocchino. The PD argues that the absence of the Azione and Impegno Civico groups from the City Council represents a disruption to an administrative path that has addressed urban planning, school resources, and waste management over the past 14 months. The PD emphasizes the need to maintain the continuity of the government to avoid stalling the city’s progress.
