Santa Marta administration undergoes leadership changes

Mayor Carlos Pinedo Cuello has implemented several leadership changes within the Santa Marta district administration to support the ‘Santa Marta 500+’ development plan.

Economist Ana Matilde Juvinao Carbonóes has been appointed as the new Secretary of Planning. She brings over 20 years of experience in public management, having previously worked with the National Planning Department, the Magdalena Governorate, and the House of Representatives. Her role will focus on project structuring, investment, and policy evaluation.

Safuat Atunes Celedón has transitioned from the Mayor's Private Office to become the City Manager (Gerencia de Ciudad). With two decades of public sector experience, he is tasked with coordinating various government departments and monitoring priority development projects.

Additionally, Hussein Ghotme has been named the acting Secretary of Security. A specialist in security and risk management, Ghotme is responsible for strengthening public safety, coexistence, and institutional prevention strategies within the district.
