Santa Marta Mayor reorganizes cabinet with new Essmar and Planning heads

Mayor Carlos Pinedo Cuello has implemented a cabinet reorganization in Santa Marta, appointing new leaders to key administrative roles.

David Millán Orozco has been named the new manager of Essmar. An architect who previously served as an advisor to the Ministry of Housing under the Gustavo Petro administration, Millán Orozco was involved in the ‘Santa Marta 500 years’ strategy and the development of desalination plant projects to address the city's water deficit. His appointment brings experience in structuring water supply solutions to the district administration.

Additionally, economist Ana Matilde Juvinao Carbonó has been appointed as the new Secretary of Planning, succeeding Patricia Lucía Caicedo Lafaurie. Juvinao holds a master's degree in Investment Project Management and Evaluation and has extensive experience in public administration, including a seven-year tenure at the National Planning Department (DNP) and previous roles in the government of Ciénaga and the Magdalena Departmental Government.
