Santa Marta: One soldier killed and another wounded in ACSN attack

A military confrontation between the Colombian Army and the Autodefensas Conquistadoras de la Sierra Nevada (ACSN), also known as ‘Los Pachenca’, resulted in the death of soldier Brajhan Daniel Ropero Lozano in the Guachaca district of Santa Marta.

During security operations conducted by the Mountain Battalion No. 6, troops were targeted with rifle and machine gun fire. Another soldier, Daniel Gracia Carrascal, was wounded in the attack and transported to a medical center in Santa Marta for treatment.

The violence caused significant distress among local residents, including students at a nearby school who were trapped inside the building during the gunfire. Authorities reported the capture of an individual known as ‘Kevin Masacre’, identified as a replacement for ‘Bendito’ within the ‘Los Pachenca’ faction of the ACSN.
