Santa Monica Police seek victims in indecent exposure case

The Santa Monica Police Department is seeking additional victims following the arrest of 72-year-old Michael Greenwald. Greenwald, a resident of Calabasas and a registered sex offender, is accused of indecent exposure at a women’s clothing store on August 29, 2026.

According to investigators, Greenwald entered the store and claimed he was filming a television show that required him to try on women’s clothing. While doing so, he allegedly exposed his genitals and buttocks to a female employee before leaving without making a purchase.

Following an investigation that included reviewing vehicle footage and searching his residence, Greenwald was arrested on September 4. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has charged him with one felony count of indecent exposure. Authorities are urging anyone who may have been a victim of similar conduct by Greenwald to contact the Santa Monica Police Department.
