Santa Monica Studio Announces God of War Laufey Featuring Faye as Lead

Santa Monica Studio revealed the next installment of the God of War series, titled God of War Laufey. The game shifts focus from Kratos to his former partner Faye, also known as Laufey, who becomes the primary protagonist. Set after Faye's death, the story begins in a mysterious realm called Everywhen, where she must protect the future she envisioned for Kratos and Atreus.

Developers emphasized that Kratos will still play a significant role in future titles, reassuring fans that his saga continues. New characters such as the deities Sekhmet and Begtse, as well as allies Phranque (voiced by Jack Quaid) and Rue (voiced by Perlina Lau), are introduced. The combat system combines elements from earlier Greek-era games with modern mechanics, featuring faster movement, aerial attacks, and soul‑manipulation abilities linked to the Jötunheim giants. No official release date has been announced.
