Santa Palomba waste-to-energy plant AMA S.p.A. RenewRome land acquisition

Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri, acting as extraordinary commissioner, has signed an ordinance to acquire approximately 39,700 square meters of additional land for the Santa Palomba waste-to-energy plant project. The acquisition, valued at approximately 5.5 million euros, involves voluntary sales from private owners rather than expropriation.

AMA S.p.A. will purchase the full ownership of the plots, which include properties from S.I.S. Italia S.r.l., Alfredo Cecchini S.r.l., and Domina S.s. Following the purchase, AMA will grant a surface right to the concessionaire, RenewRome S.r.l., for the duration of the project's concession.

The expansion is intended to facilitate necessary road network adjustments and address hydraulic requirements related to the Fosso della Cancelliera. The planned facility is designed to process 600,000 tons of waste per year.
