Santa Pola celebrates Moros y Cristianos festivals

The coastal town of Santa Pola celebrated key moments of its 2026 Moros y Cristianos patron saint festivals. The festivities included a grand parade featuring seven different groups, consisting of two Moorish groups—Beduinos and Llaganyosos—and five Christian groups: Contrabandistas del Mar, Piratas, Almogávares, Templarios, and Astures.

Central to the celebrations was the historical reenactment of the Christian Reconquest of the local Castle-Fortress. Following a simulated battle involving gunpowder and arquebus fire, the Moorish forces surrendered the keys of the fortress to the Christian side. The event featured musical performances, traditional costumes, and parades through the town center, including routes from El Palmeral to the port area.
