Santa Province Municipality provides 111 mobility aids to people with disabilities

The Municipalidad Provincial del Santa (MPS) organized a free distribution of 111 biomechanical mobility devices to residents with disabilities and reduced mobility. The aid package included 37 wheelchairs, 32 canes, 22 pairs of crutches, 10 seated walkers and 10 non‑seated walkers, as well as free glasses provided through the Pensión 65 program. Recipients were selected after a socioeconomic and technical assessment by the Office of Municipal Attention to Persons with Disabilities (OMAPED). Municipal manager Luis Luna Villarreal highlighted the initiative as a concrete act of solidarity aimed at improving autonomy, independence and quality of life for vulnerable citizens.

The event was coordinated by the Social Development Management, with participation from councilor Segundo Gómez Chuquiruna, Social Development manager Marleny de la Cruz García, and OMAPED chief Jorge Castillo Pinedo.
