Santa Rosa do Purus to cut nearly R$ 4 million in spending
The City Hall of Santa Rosa do Purus has ordered the collective dismissal of temporary employees to reduce public spending and comply with legal budgetary limits. According to Municipal Decree No. 47, published on October 16, 2026, the termination of these contracts is scheduled to take effect on November 15, 2026.
Administrative data indicates that personnel expenses reached 66.93% of the Net Current Revenue (RCL) during the second four-month period of 2026. This figure exceeds the municipality's target limit of 59.47%. To reach this goal, the administration estimates a necessary cut of approximately R$ 3.68 million in current expenses, averaging a monthly saving of R$ 920.9 thousand.
The layoffs will not affect workers with constitutional guarantees or provisional stability, such as pregnant women, nursing mothers, and employees on accident-related sick leave. The decree also stipulates that pending vacation requests for affected staff will be denied due to administrative necessity, though accrued vacation pay, proportional thirteenth-month salaries, and salary balances must be paid upon termination.
