Sant’Agata Militello inaugurates new school gymnasium

The ITI “Evangelista Torricelli-Tomasi di Lampedusa” in Sant’Agata Militello has officially inaugurated its new gymnasium. The project, completed after approximately two and a half years of work, was funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) with an investment of 1,859,000 euros.

Executed by the Metropolitan City of Messina, the facility is located at the via Vallone Posta site. The modern structure includes changing rooms, restrooms, equipment rooms, and technical spaces. The playing surface features a certified floating PVC flooring designed for impact absorption, while large screened windows allow for natural light.

To enhance sustainability and maintenance, the building is equipped with high-performance photovoltaic panels and a life line system for roof maintenance. The construction, which began in November 2023, underwent successful static and technical-administrative testing between January and April 2026.
