A civil court in Italy has ordered the seizure of the entire social‑housing complex in Sant'Agnello. The measure was obtained by lawyer Valerio Ricciardi on behalf of several assignees who had previously demanded the cancellation of their preliminary contracts and the return of the deposits they had paid.

In 2024 the civil tribunal ruled that the construction company SHS, run by engineer Antonio Elefante, was unable to fulfil the project and ordered it to refund each claimant between €60,000 and €154,000. Because SHS has not paid any of the sums, the judge authorized the full pignoramento of the property on 22 July.

The criminal proceedings against Elefante, former mayor Piergiorgio Sagristani and other officials resulted in an acquittal at first instance. The presiding judge has granted a 90‑day extension to file the reasons for that decision, after which the prosecution may choose to appeal. The case continues to affect dozens of families and local authorities in Campania.
