Santana de Parnaíba and Casan earn Brazilian sustainability certifications

The municipality of Santana de Parnaíba was awarded the CAIXA Sustainable Management Seal in the Safira (80‑89 points) category during the 80th ordinary meeting of the Municipal Environmental Defense Council (CONDEMAS). The seal evaluates 25 indicators across environmental, social, governance and climate dimensions; the city ranked among the ten highest scores nationwide for the climate axis and was selected as one of 50 Brazilian cities to prepare a Voluntary Local Report in line with the UN Agenda 2030.

Companhia Catarinense de Águas e Saneamento (Casan) received the Gold Seal from the Public Emissions Registry under the Brazilian GHG Protocol, its first Gold‑level recognition after previously earning Silver. The award confirms that Casan’s annual greenhouse‑gas emissions inventory meets the highest transparency and quality standards, verified by an independent accredited body. The achievement aligns with Brazil’s new Emissions Trading System (SBCE) created by Law 15.042/2024 and supports the country’s broader climate‑transition strategy.
