Santana do Livramento: Dogs kill six sheep on rural property
In the rural locality of Baixada da Serra, near Santana do Livramento, Rio Grande do Sul, three dogs killed six sheep on a property owned by Carlos Vidal da Silva Pereira. The incident has been recorded in a police report and is currently under investigation by the Civil Police.
The producer reported that the attack caused significant financial loss and emotional frustration, noting that the predatory nature of the dogs left the sheep with no means of defense. While the producer stated he was not seeking financial compensation, he requested that authorities take measures to prevent future attacks.
According to Heleno dos Santos, director of the Division for Repression of Rural Crimes and Cattle Rustling (Dicrab), the owners of the dogs may be held liable in both criminal and civil courts for the damages caused.
