Santander Museum Opens Chelo Matesanz Exhibition “Una Chula”

The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Santander (MAS) has opened the exhibition “Una chula” by artist Chelo Matesanz. The show creates a dialogue with a work by the local painter Casimiro Sainz, linking contemporary creation with the city’s artistic heritage. Municipal cultural councilor Gema Igual highlighted the city’s commitment to “accessible, diverse and close” culture, positioning the MAS as a key venue for modern art in the region. The exhibition is part of the museum’s annual program aimed at fostering connections between present‑day art and historic local contexts, inviting the public to reflect on the continuity and transformation of artistic practice.
