Santander to host March Against Cancer on September 5

Santander will host the ‘Marcha contra el cáncer’ (March Against Cancer) on Saturday, September 5. Organized by the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in Cantabria in collaboration with the local City Council, the event aims to promote physical exercise and healthy lifestyle habits.

Funds raised during the event will support oncological research projects, care programs for cancer patients and their families, and prevention and awareness campaigns. The route covers 8.9 kilometers, starting at the Gamazo esplanade and passing through Magdalena beaches, the Magdalena Palace, Camello, Sardinero, and Mataleñas, before concluding at the Cabo Mayor Lighthouse.

Participants can choose between walking or participating in a night trail run. Health Councilor Zulema Gancedo emphasized the city's total commitment to the association, noting that the initiative supports those affected by the disease and their families.
