Santander to modernize Local Police with new technology platform
The Santander City Council has approved a tender to implement and maintain a new integrated technological platform designed to modernize the Local Police force. The project, valued at approximately 399,530 euros, is set for an initial three-year term with the possibility of two annual extensions.
The platform will focus on four key areas: managing the Service Coordination Center (092) and its communication matrix, administrative and police management of files and personnel, a real-time data application for officers, and a traffic and video surveillance module.
A significant feature of the upgrade is the integration of the current 092 telephone switchboard with the police management platform. This will potentially allow citizens to report incidents by sharing live video from their mobile phone cameras and transmitting their real-time location. This capability aims to provide officers with more precise information immediately, thereby reducing response times to emergencies.
