Santander Triathlon to host 800 participants on September 20

The Triatlón Ciudad de Santander is scheduled for Sunday, September 20, 2026, featuring 800 total participants. The event includes 762 registered athletes competing in two categories: the Olympic Distance, with 601 participants, and the Middle Distance, with 161 participants. The athlete pool represents 42 Spanish provinces and 11 different countries.

Due to the competition, the Santander City Council has announced several traffic closures and parking restrictions to ensure the safety of athletes and spectators. The event will take place between 08:30 and 15:30, with the cycling circuit passing through various locations including Gamazo, Avenida de la Magdalena, and the Estación Marítima. Local authorities have advised residents to use alternative routes, such as Bajada de San Juan, Caleruco, and Albericia, to travel between the north and south zones of the city.
