Sant’Antioco B&B faces legal action over unpaid refund

A dispute over a refund for a bed and breakfast in Sant’Antioco, Sardinia, is headed to court. The case involves a couple from Asti who were unable to travel for a planned June vacation after the woman, who is battling cancer, required emergency hospitalization.

According to Adiconsum Sardegna, the manager of the ‘Il Melangolo’ B&B initially refused to refund the 609 euro payment. Following media pressure, the manager reportedly promised to return the funds, citing human sensitivity toward the woman’s medical condition. However, consumer rights group Adiconsum reports that despite being provided with bank details, the refund has not been issued.

Giorgio Vargiu, president of Adiconsum Sardegna, stated that the group will pursue legal action to secure the refund and seek damages. The B&B management has declined to comment further, stating they have referred the matter to their legal counsel.
