Sant'Antonio Abate Hospital suspends elective surgeries for maintenance

The Sant'Antonio Abate Hospital in Trapani has suspended all scheduled elective surgeries to facilitate maintenance work in its second-floor operating block. The suspension began at 4:00 PM on September 11 and is expected to last approximately eight days.

The renovation work includes repairing plaster, painting, and other structural maintenance intended to uphold hygienic and sanitary standards. To ensure patient safety and care quality, the ASP Trapani will utilize two other operating rooms located on the fifth and seventh floors of the facility.

Urgent medical procedures, including Class A oncological surgeries and non-deferrable traumatology interventions, will remain fully operational. Additionally, the health authority will integrate the operating rooms of other hospitals within the provincial network to maintain surgical assistance. Reopening of the second-floor block is contingent upon the completion of works and successful environmental sampling results.
