Comitato 10 Febbraio marks 80th anniversary of Vergarolla massacre

The Comitato 10 Febbraio is organizing commemorations to mark the 80th anniversary of the Vergarolla massacre. The event honors the victims of the 1946 explosion of war ordnance on a beach in Pola, which resulted in approximately one hundred deaths, the majority of whom were Italian.

As part of the remembrance, members of the Committee will place flowers on monuments or symbolic locations throughout Italy to create an “ideal embrace” with Pola. Additionally, a new memorial is being inaugurated in Verbania on August 18. The Committee continues its efforts to raise awareness regarding this event, which is noted as the first massacre in the history of the Italian Republic.
