Santarcangelo launches second phase of pest control plan

Santarcangelo is launching the second phase of its scheduled 2026 pest control plan starting Monday, October 5. The initiative involves installing over 500 stations across the municipality, including nearly 60 in the historic center, 170 in the main town, and approximately 280 in outlying hamlets.

Operators from Anthea will first deploy dispensers with ‘virtual bait’ to detect rat activity. After two weeks, technicians will return to assess consumption and apply rodenticides only where presence is confirmed. To maximize effectiveness, the municipal administration noted that while they target sewer rats in public areas, citizens are encouraged to manage infestations of black rats in private properties and historic buildings.
