Santarcangelo Mayor requests new train stop for students

The Mayor of Santarcangelo di Romagna, Filippo Sacchetti, has formally requested that Trenitalia Tper and the Emilia-Romagna Region introduce a new stop for the Regional Veloce 3927 train at the Santarcangelo station.

The request follows complaints from students attending technical institutes in Cesena. Due to mandatory afternoon laboratories and lessons, students departing Cesena at 16:40 find that the train skips Santarcangelo, stopping only at Savignano sul Rubicone and Rimini. This forces students to travel to Savignano to find alternative transport or rely on parents, which Sacchetti notes can interfere with parents' work schedules and prolong travel times.

In a letter addressed to Tper President Paolo Paolillo and the Regional Mobility Office, Sacchetti argued that the current situation jeopardizes the students' right to study and rest. He emphasized that adding a stop should not significantly disrupt the existing schedule and would benefit both local youth and regional sustainable mobility.
