Santarcangelo to restore Piazza Ganganelli War Memorial

Restoration and conservation work on the War Memorial in Piazza Ganganelli, Santarcangelo, is scheduled to begin between late September and early October. The municipal government approved an executive project with an investment of approximately 50,000 euros.

The project, authorized by the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Landscape for the provinces of Ravenna, Forlì-Cesena, and Rimini, aims to address degradation caused by weathering and wear. The intervention includes repairing the statue's base and steps by reconstructing missing parts, performing stucco work, and applying a water-repellent treatment. For the bronze sculptures, restorers will secure unstable areas, clean surface deposits, and apply a protective coating.

Mayor Filippo Sacchetti and Deputy Mayor Michela Mussoni stated that this project is part of an extraordinary maintenance plan for the city's historical monuments, following the recent restoration of the Sant’Ermete War Memorial.
