Santarém Municipality announces cultural and educational funding

The Municipality of Santarém has announced several social and cultural investment initiatives. Under the Support Program for Associativism and Cultural Agents (PAAAC 2026), the municipality has formalized collaboration protocols totaling 345,000 euros for the period between January 2 and December 31, 2026. This funding is divided into three areas: 155,500 euros for permanent annual activities, 75,500 euros for punctual activities and festivals, and 114,000 euros for investment and equipment acquisition.

Additionally, the Santarém City Council has unanimously approved the opening of applications for higher education scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic year. A total of 75,000 euros has been allocated to provide 50 scholarships, each worth 1,500 euros (distributed as 150 euros per month for 10 months). These scholarships aim to support local students facing economic obstacles to pursuing higher education. The application period is scheduled from September 14 to October 14, 2026.
